Principal Data Engineer at Cherre

As a Principal Data Engineer you will:
- Be part of designing and implementing server-side services to ingest, organize, analyze, and display real estate data and insight.
- Design data warehouse solutions to support ETL processes and data analytics applications.
- Drive our data platform and help evolve our technology stack, and develop best practices.
- Write SQL/NoSQL database queries, stored procedures, triggers, user-defined functions, analytic functions, etc.
- Own features that you develop end to end, test your code, implement new processes in production and support them over time
- Develop and unit test assigned features to meet product requirements.
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Have 12+ years of commercial experience working with Data
- Have strong experience in database technologies and data warehousing
- Are highly proficient with Python and have worked with it beyond just writing ETLs
- Have a BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field
- Have experience with service-oriented architecture and a good understanding of distributed systems, data stores, data modeling, and indexing
- Have hands-on experience with BigQuery, PostgreSQL, large-scale distributed storage and database systems, and developing APIs and SDKs
- Can deal with ambiguity and communicate well with both technical and non-technical teams
- Have good conversational and written English
Bonus points if you:
- Have experience with Event Sourcing and/or CQRS
- Are excited to be part of a high growth startup
