Tell us a bit about yourself.
I'm from Brazil, and I went to a technical high school where you could study mechanics, computer science, computer engineering, and many other subjects. I chose information technology, where I graduated, did an internship, and then began programming. That's where I realized, 'yeah, I could do this for a living.'
What were you looking for in your next job opportunity?
When I started working, the market was expanding. And during the pandemic, it reached the point where everyone, and I mean everyone, all over the world was looking for developers. And I saw this as a chance to work abroad without having to leave my family or home, and to learn about the quality of software and techniques used all over the world, rather than just what was used in my workplace.
How did you find Flatworld?
It was more of a 'Flatworld found me' type of situation. Gilad contacted me on LinkedIn about a Java position available at Leapfin.
How would you describe your experience with Flatworld?
Within an hour I completed my asynchronous requirements, someone from Flatworld contacted me. And while Flatworld informed me that I lacked the necessary experience for the position I originally applied for they immediately offered me a replacement position. It was actually pretty cool because I wasn't left hanging and my time wasn't wasted because they recognized my skills matched me to a job that better matched my experience.
What makes the opportunity at eyko a great fit for you?
I was informed by Flatworld about the co-founders, and I was intrigued because this was their second start-up, so my expectation was that 'these people know how to survive,' and they have decades of experience working together, which adds to my trust. They also mentioned using Azure as a provider in the deck stacked, which piqued my interest.
Would you recommend us to a friend? What would be your number one selling point?
Without a doubt. I've already told others about Flatworld. Many companies all over the world are attempting to reach out to developers, and when I started at this position, people began asking me, "How did you do this?" or "How did you get this?" and I told them about Flatworld. Gilad's hands-on approach - pointing out my skills and personality and guiding me to my current job - was the number one selling point.
